Jakarta will Be an Example of Cashless Society, Ahok Says

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja 'Ahok' Purnama officially launched the e-money parking system on Jalan H Agus Salim or Sabang area, Central Jakarta, Thursday (1/29).

Ahok said, the using of non cash system in the capital is also believed to increase gross domestic product (PDB) of central government. "It also ease the bank to give lower banking fees and credit interest," said Basuki in sideline of e-parking system launching.

He continued, the using of non cash system will be used at various transactions in the capital. "We can use e-money to withdraw PKL (street vendors) retribution fees, to pay transjakarta ticket, and other transaction," Ahok continued.

Moreover, Ahok added, Jakarta Provincial Government will do the best effort to be an example for other cities to create cashless society or the society that prefers to use cash card, credit card, debit card for transaction that using cash money.

"So, Jakarta continues to be an example for other provincials to form the cashless society," he uttered.

As known, city government has been working with 6 banks to facilitate the e-parking system. The six banks are, BNI, Mandiri Bank, BRI Bank, Mega Bank, BCA, dan DKI Bank.
