Beef Supply, City to Build Farm in NTT

Jakarta Provincial Government has started cooperation with Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Provincial Government to meet the needs of meat in the capital. One of cooperation forms, Jakarta Provincial Government will build 100 hectares of farm in NTT.

Jakarta Investment and Promotion Agency (BPMP) Head Catur Laswanto said, the cooperation is done through PD Dharma Jaya as Jakarta Provincial Owned Enterprise (BUMD).

"This cooperation is worth about Rp 45 billion," said Catur, at Jakarta City Hall, Friday (2/20).

City Cooperates with NTT to Meet Beef Supply

He mentioned, the budget will be used for land acquisition, facility construction, and cows purchase. But, before the program is implemented, his side will do further study with Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) related to the budget.

"Currently, the master plan is still studied by LIPI related to the budget," he uttered.

According to Laswanto, Jakarta Provincial Government will give government investment participation (PMP) to PD Dharma Jaya to support this cooperation. Furthermore, the investment will be included in 2015 Budget Change because in 2015 City Budget, PT Dharma Jaya not belongs to the companies that get the investment.

Laswanto admitted, this cooperation is aimed to balance the beef stock in capital.

"We cooperate with NTT to meet the beef needs in capital. Moreover, we planned to acquire land over there," he uttered.
