ITS Indonesia Meets Heru to Discuss String Transport Technology

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono received a visit from the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Indonesia President, William Sabandar with uScovery DMCC Dubai CEO, Oleg Zaretskiy at City Hall, Wednesday (3/29).

The visit is in the context of hearings regarding the use of more up-to-date intelligent transportation technology in dealing with various transportation problems such as congestion in urban areas and increased mobility in suburban areas. UScovery DMCC Dubai is part of the Unitsky group of companies, Belarus.

ITS Indonesia cooperates with Unitsky String Technologies, Inc. which offers string transport technology or the use of vehicles that can run with an overhead or elevated rail system. This technology can be integrated with existing public transportation such as MRT and LRT.

"We plan to make another project while looking for the right location. Mr. Acting Governor has given directions for ITS Indonesia in coordination with the Jakarta Provincial Government to first look at routes that can be built," he expressed.

He explained the cost of building this technological construction was much cheaper than MRT or LRT. The time needed for construction is much faster, it can be within two years.

"The construction can take two years, with a record of permits, the land is ready," he explained.

He assessed Unitsky String Technologies, a very competent company, the technology has been successfully developed in several places.

"This is a proven technology. And they are present in Indonesia in their capacity as members of ITS Indonesia. They are already interested in investing in Jakarta and maybe IKN. Jakarta will be the first,” he added.

He added the Acting Governor provided support because the unitsky string technology could be a solution for handling congestion and this public transportation could interconnect with MRT and LRT, as well as being a feeder for major transportation.

"That's what we're looking at. We formulate which route, then what kind of investment model. We will share with our friends here and will come again when it becomes something realized," he uttered.
