Visiting Kalijodo RTH, Heru Wants Routine Activation and Some Improvements

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono inspected the Kalijodo Green Open Space (RTH), in Pejagalan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta, Saturday (4/8).

On that occasion, he was accompanied by North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim; West Jakarta Mayor, Uus Kuswanto; Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency Head, Bayu Meghantara; and representatives of Jakarta Women's Empowerment, Family Planning, and Child Protection Agency.

As quoted by beritajakarta.id, he checked the condition of the Kalijodo RTH starting from the construction to the supporting facilities and infrastructure in it.

He instructed the Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency to carry out maintenance and repairs to parts of the building or other facilities for the convenience of Kalijodo RTH visitors.

"The Parks Agency will fix things that need to be cared for including repairing canopies, painting, and so on," he expressed.

He also instructed related OPDs to activate the Kalijodo RTH by holding various activities or events that are routine or ceremonial. Among other things, the BMX bicycle championship in order to celebrate Jakarta's anniversary.

“There are routine activities here, I will come informally later. I want the Parks Agency to communicate with the BMX community to organize an activity and the prizes let my business. They routinely hold programs and activities and we think about the prizes," he stated.

He also wants to hold a photography competition or exhibition at Kalijodo RTH. Besides being a forum for photographers to display their works, it is also a magnet for visitors to come to RTH.

"Later, City Hall media will have a photo contest, those who win will have their photos displayed here. Submit a proposal. Sunday morning or evening is fine, we'll see the photos of who won and we will give prizes. these are two hectares that we have to take care of, it is difficult to find two hectares of land in Jakarta," he stated.

Jakarta Parks and City Forest Head, Bayu Meghantara uttered that his party would immediately follow up on Acting Governor's directives regarding repair and maintenance, including the activation of the Kalijodo RTH shortly.

"We invite the community and so on how we revitalize this area for better community activities. God willing, the repair of roof walls and facilities and others after Idul Fitri. It's budgeted," he stated.
