City to Increase Water Pump Power in West Jakarta

West Jakarta Administration will repair water pump in three points that located in Ratu Park at Kebon Jeruk, Trisakti, and Jelambar at Grogol Petamburan. The plans, the repair will be implemented after 2015 City Budget disbursed.

We will increase the water pump power from 300-500 cubic meters to 1,000 cubic meters,

West Jakarta Water Management Head of Public Works Sub-department, Hendy Dunant said, the three areas are included in priority program because the area is the worst location when flooding occured in early February. Moreover, his side will improve the water pump power capacity.

"We will increase the water pump power from 300-500 cubic meters to 1,000 cubic meters," said Dunant, Friday (2/27).

Especially at Trisakti, Dunant continued, his side will increase the water pump power from 750 and 1,000 liter to 2,000 liter per second. Then, one pump at Ratu Park will also be replaced with the new pump with higher capacity.

Dunant added, meanwhile at Jelambar, his side will cooperate with Public Works Ministry. Because the area are under three agencies as Public Works Ministry, Jakarta Water Management Department, and West Jakarta Water Management Sub-department.

And for the budget, Dunant uttered, his side proposed Rp 20 million for Trisakti and Ratu Park area, then Rp 17 Million for Jelambar.

"We will also add new pump at Duta Mas, Jelambar leading to Tubagus Angke to shorten the flood interval at the area," he said.
