Civil Document Broken, Flood Victims Urged to Report

Flood that inundated scores of areas in North Jakarta in early February does not only force thousands of residents to flee, yet it also broken thousands of civil documents belonging to residents who live in 31 urban villages.

According to Muhammad Hatta, Head of North Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department, since the complaint post is opened on Wednesday (2/18), as many as 1,573 civil documents are broken due to flood. In details, they consist of 863 family cards, 435 birth certificates and 275 ID cards.

Starting Today, PTSP to Serve All Civil Registration Documents

"Residents can make a report on this matter to urban village apparatuses in each area," he suggested.

He expressed residents do not need to spend money to process the broken documents. They only bring proof of the broken document or report to the sub-department officers in the urban village.

"Don't worry. This is free of charge. Our service will be held until the end of the upcoming March," he exclaimed.
