Seribu Islands Satpol PP Intensifies Sea Patrols

The Seribu Islands Satpol PP together with national army and police conduct sea patrols in order to follow up on reports from residents about fishing vessels violating regional zoning and fishing gear.

We'll continue to intensify it until the waters are free from violations

Seribu Islands Satpol PP Head, Atok Baroni Hidayat said the sea patrol was conducted based on reports from residents regarding fishing boats that violated the waters of Peniki Island, Panggang Island, North Seribu Islands.

"During the patrol, we found a KM Sumber Agung vessel from Muara Angke. We gave the vessel a warning and sanctions," he said, Friday (5/12).

His party sent 20 personnel assisted by 15 joint personnel of army and police to patrol the waters of Untung Jawa, Tidung, and Pramuka islands.

"Recently, many fishermen have been found to be violating fishing regulations by using fishing gear such as mayang nets, axle nets, and trawl nets," he explained.

His party would not hesitate to carry out enforcement against violators of this rule. If violations were found, they would be legally processed again.

"We'll continue to intensify it until the waters are free from violations," he asserted.
