200 Illegal Buildings Under Flyover Demolished

Around 200 illegal buildings under the Jembatan Lima flyover, Tambora, West Jakarta were demolished by joint officers due to it has disturbed the public order.

The demolition was done due to the houses are unlisenced and make the area looks dirty

Those semi-permanent buildings have been built since teen years ago which majority the owners' professions are scavengers.

Tambora Sub-District Head, Mursidin mentioned, the demolition involved joint officers such as Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), TNI, Polri and PT PLN Disjaya. 

"The demolition was done due to the buildings are unlicensed and make the area looks dirty," said Mursidin.

Mursi din stated, as the provision, a week before the demolition, his side has socialized to the owners to dismantle their own building yet they ignored it.

"PLN's losses are quite big as those buildings have stolen the electricity," he uttered. 

According to him, the electricity theft is very dangerous as it can caused a fire.
