Regarding MGMAC and AMF
In 2013, Joko Widodo as Jakarta Governor at that time, initiated the Meeting of Mayors and Governors of ASEAN Capital (MGMAC) in Jakarta. This meeting is the contribution of ASEAN Capital Cities in building the ASEAN Community, discussing various perspectives, challenges and development practices in each member country.
Then, there was also the ASEAN Mayors Forum (AMF) which was formed in 2011 in Surabaya, Indonesia, to show the importance of local contributions to the growth of the ASEAN region. This meeting discussed the development of the ASEAN Community and the role of city governments in accelerating progress and benefits for citizens.
These two meetings were expected to further stimulate the Indonesian economy by providing broad benefits to the community, demonstrating the development of the City of Jakarta, as well as increasing strategic partnerships with ASEAN cities and other countries.
