200 Cooperatives in West Jakarta Recorded Inactive

As much as 200 out of 906 cooperatives which recorded by West Jakarta Cooperative, Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP), are not operated or inactive.

Nearly 30 percent or 200 out of 906 cooperatives is inactive. Most of them are engaged in providing service for secondary and primary staple, as well as savings and loans

"Nearly 30 percent or 200 out of 906 cooperatives is inactive. Most of them are engaged in providing service for secondary and primary staple, as well as savings and loans," explained Slamet Widodo, Head of West Jakarta Cooperative, Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises and Trade, Wednesday (3/18).

Widodo told it is caused by some factors. Among them are decrease in the number of members and lack of venture capital.

"To develop the cooperative, we continue to socialize and give guidance thus people could have a role to support and develop cooperative that adheres to the mutual cooperation principle," he uttered.
