"Jakarta also has a number of tourist destinations that delegates can visit," he added.

Here are the typical Jakarta snacks that must be tasted by the ASEAN Summit delegates:

Kerak Telor

When you ask people about Betawi traditional food, Kerak Telor may be one of the answers. At a glance, the egg crust may appear like a pancake, but it's more crusty, rich, and spicy. It's made from glutinous rice that is cooked with your choice of egg, chicken or duck. When the crust is cooked, fried shallots, dried shrimps, and serundeng (desiccated coconut) are added as its toppings. During the cooking process, the seller flips the clay pan when the dish is halfway done and uses hot charcoal as the source of heat. Kerak telor is best eaten as a snack.

Selendang Mayang

Selendang Mayang is a very popular typical Betawi snack. Made from rice flour which is added with colorful food coloring (usually green, red and white) combined with syrup, coconut milk and ice. This dish has a sweet, savory, cold and fresh taste. No wonder Selendang Mayang is the perfect dessert.

Bir Pletok

Bir pletok has become an icon of traditional Betawi culture besides ondel-ondel. Even though the word "beer" is included in this drink, it does not contain alcohol at all. In fact, Bir Pletok is a drink that can warm and refresh the body because it is made from a mixture of selected spices.

Starting from secang wood, cinnamon, ginger, lemongrass, red ginger, turmeric, black pepper, pandan leaves, nutmeg, lime leaves, star anise, cardamom and cloves. Then add sugar and salt to make it taste more delicious.

Kue Cincin

Kue Cincin is shaped like a brown ring because it comes from brown sugar. Betawi people usually present ring cakes at special events such as weddings and circumcisions. Apart from brown sugar, the ingredients used are rice flour and roasted coconut.

Kembang Goyang

Kembang Goyang is also often found during Betawi people's celebrations. The name "Kembang Goyang" is taken from its shape which resembles a flower and the technique of making it involves shaking it until the dough comes out of the mold.

Made from simple ingredients, only rice flour is added with salt and sugar, then fried until dry and decorated with a sprinkling of sesame seeds. Can produce a savory and sweet taste.

Talam Pandan

Talam Pandan is a traditional Betawi cake that has spread throughout Indonesia. Its delicious taste and beautiful appearance make it a favorite of many people. This cake is characterized by its shape which is similar to a lotus flower with two different layers. The bottom layer is usually made from sticky rice dough which is white and chewy. Meanwhile, the top layer is made from a green dough made from rice flour, sugar, coconut milk, and pandan leaves.

To beautify its appearance, Talam cakes are often decorated with pieces of pandan leaves, grated coconut or sesame on top.

Putu Mayang

Putu Mayang is a traditional Betawi snack made from rice flour and coconut milk. It looks like round noodles. Usually, it is served with thick liquid brown sugar, which gives it a distinctive sweet taste that is very tasty.
