Street Vendors Controlling in Monas Went Chaotic

In accordance to upholding bylaw No. 8/2007 regarding to public order, brawl returned to happen while around 70 Satpol PP controlling street vendors in Monas, Gambir, Central Jakarta. They against the Satpol PP officers by throwing them with stone.

Luckily, there is no casualty in that brawl

Based on beritajakarta.com observation on Thursday (3/19), satpol PP personnels started to raid the street vendors who trading at the west side of Monas, at that moment they ran away immediately when the officers came closer.

The raid continued to the east side of Monas. But suddenly dozens of street vendors pelting the officers with stone from the outside fence. The officers pulled down to avoid bigger clash.

E. Jakarta Headmen Obliged to Patrol Until Dawn as Brawl Anticipation

Knowing that case, dozens of police officers from Monas Timur Sub-Sector assisted by Marine personnel immediately went to the location to control the situation.

“Luckily, there is no casualty in that brawl. We prefer to pull off in order to avoid the situation getting worst. Moreover, the situation in Gambir Station was crowded,” said Central Jakarta Satpol PP Operational Head, Maruli Sijabat.
