Dozens of street vendors (PKL) around Arsa Beach Park and Goba Wisata, Untung Jawa Island, South Seribu Islands have started occupying free kiosks next to the main pier.

We provide them free of charge to business people

Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head, Sidartawan said the relocation is aimed at cleaning the area from street vendors and making it more orderly and neater.

"These kiosks are built through CSR funds. We provide them free of charge to business people," he expressed, Tuesday (9/19).

There were at least 20 street vendors who had been relocated from the streets and parks to the kiosks. Previously, his party had also provided counseling to them regarding this relocation.

"There are 60 kiosks and many are empty. That's why we want street vendors to occupy them," he stated.

Untung Jawa Island Puja Berhias Community-based Tourism Group (Pokdarwis) Chairperson, Rusli hoped that the kiosks provided could be occupied immediately. So, tourists who want to shop focus on one place and have many options.

By doing so, it could make Untung Jawa Island even more attractive to tourists.

"Currently, the conditions around Arsa Beach look cleaner and not as chaotic as before," he stated.
