Failed Emissions Test, Three Vehicles Netted on Jalan Raya Pemuda

Some 50 joint personnel of the East Jakarta Environment Sub-agency, managed to control three out of 54 vehicles undergoing the emission test raid held on Jalan Raya Pemuda, Jatinegara Kaum Urban Village, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (11/1).

Vehicles that fail the emissions test are ticketed

East Jakarta Environment Sub-agency Head, Eko Gumelar said from the raid held from 8 AM to 10 AM, as many as 24 petrol cars underwent the raid, including six diesel cars and 24 motorbikes.

"Vehicles that fail the emissions test are ticketed," he expressed.

City Focuses on Emission Tests in Jakarta Buffer Areas

According to him, those 50 joint personnel were from the East Jakarta Environment Sub-agency, Transportation Sub-agency, Satpol PP, and Resort Police Traffic Region Unit. Most were over three years old.

"We provided three large tents to inspect the netted vehicles," he uttered.

Saeful (35), one of the car drivers netted in the raid admitted that he did not know that his pick-up car had not undergone an emissions test.

"I'm just a driver, vehicle maintenance is usually done by the employer," he stated.
