The Jakarta Provincial Government together with the DPR Legislative Body and the Ministry of Home, Ministry of State Secretariat, and Ministry of Law and Human Rights, made a working visit to the United States for a Reference Study of the Draft Law on Jakarta Special Regional Government (RUU DKJ).

The working visit held from November 16 to 17, 2023, was led by City Secretary's Government Assistant, Sigit Wijatmoko, and accompanied by Regional Cooperation Bureau Head, Marulina Dewi.
City Secretary's Government Assistant, Sigit Wijatmoko said the working visit aimed to establish cooperation with various parties, including the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) and the New York City Government.

"This step was taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen public transportation as the main solution, in line with the Jakarta Government's vision to create comfortable, reliable, and affordable transportation services," he explained.
In a meeting with Deputy Commissioner for Policy and Strategic Initiatives and Chief of Staff of the New York Mayor's Office for International Affairs, Aissata MB Camara in Manhattan, New York, the delegation discussed the strategic role of New York City as a benchmark for Jakarta in developing the global economy.
"Jakarta and New York have actively collaborated within the C40 Cities framework to address climate change and Urban 20 (U20) as an Engagement Group in the G20," he continued.
He added the reference study involved intensive discussions with partners like ICCT and the implementation of best practices through benchmarking with New York City.
"We thank all parties involved, including the Indonesian Embassy in Washington DC and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in New York, who have supported the success of this visit. This effort prompts Jakarta to become a global economic center that is sustainable and highly competitive," he stated.
