Bakesbangpol Holds Archipelago Culinary and Cultural Festival at JIV

This is also an effort to realize national food security

The Jakarta National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) together with the National Intermingling Forum (FPK) and the community, held an Indonesian Culinary and Cultural Festival at the Jakarta International Velodrome (JIV), Kayu Putih Urban Village, Pulogadung, East Jakarta. It has been held from today to Sunday (12/3).

According to Taufan Bakri, Head of Jakarta Kesbangpol Agency, the Indonesian Culinary and Cultural Festival is the Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono's mandate to increase enthusiasm and love for the homeland.

Besides showcasing a variety of Indonesian culinary delights, it was also enlivened by a cultural parade and various competitions.

"There are also coloring competitions for children, dancing, and most importantly cooking competitions," he expressed, Friday (12/1).

He asserted it was also to introduce and foster a love for the younger generation for authentic Indonesian cuisines, such as Martabak Kubang (beef-filled deep-fried pancake), Sate Padang (Padang Satay), Lemang Tapai, and Lontong Sayur Gulai Paku (rice cake with various richly flavored side dishes).

"This is also an effort to realize national food security," he added.
