25 Illegal Buildings on the Channel Demolished

Central Jakarta Administration keeps conducting normalization of water channel that spread in Central Jakarta. To smoothen it, as many as 25 illegal buildings along Jalan Tanah Tinggi, Tanah Tinggi Urban Village, Johar Baru Sub-District Central Jakarta, demolished, Monday(3/30). 

The demolition runs conducive.  Around 25 buildings are demolished, where 16 of them located on Jalan Tanah Tinggi I and 9 buildings in Gg I

Considering, those buildings which are used as a trade place have covered the channels thus it makes trash piled up and hard to be cleaned. As a result, the water overflows and inundates the road when rain pours the site. 

The demolition involved 45 joint personnel of Satpol PP, army and police. The vendors were only resignedly seeing their stalls demolished. 

35 Illegal Buildings Along Angke Dam Demolished

Tanah Tinggi Urban Village Head, Abdul Hakim stated the demolition went smoothly as it has been socialized before by sending warning letter three times to the owners.

"The demolition went conducive. Around 25 buildings are demolished, where 16 of them located on Jalan Tanah Tinggi I and 9 buildings in Gg I," he told. 

After that, his side will ask related unit to drain the channels that have been silting. "We're asking the Water Management Sub-Department to drain the channels as it keeps overflowing during rainy season," he asked.
