Seribu Islands Environment Sub-agency, cleaned and transported 36,680 kilograms of garbage left over from the New Year's Eve 2024 and holiday celebrations.

Community Participation and Legal Arrangement Technical Section Head, Rizas Lestari Ningsih said dozens of personnel were alerted in six sub-districts to ensure cleanliness was always maintained.
"We've managed to pick up 16,160 kilograms from six urban villages and 20,520 kilograms of garbage during New Year holidays," he expressed, Tuesday (1/2).
East Jakarta Vice Mayor Urges Residents to Keep Environment CleanIn two days, personnel transported around 8,267 kilograms of garbage from Tidung Island, 4,315 kilograms from Untung Jawa Island, 8,577 kilograms from Lancang Island, 5,456 kilograms from Panggang Island, 4,310 kilograms from Kelapa Island, and 5,755 kilograms from Harapan Island.
"Most garbage transported are used food packaging, plastic bottles, canned drinks, and so forth," he explained.
He added that waste transportation in each area was conducted using one to two motor garbage carts to be taken to the TPS. Then garbage collected at the TPS was then disposed of at the Bantar Gebang TPST, Bekasi, West Java.
"We also get support from local urban village PPSU personnel. We continue to urge locals and tourists to maintain cleanliness and preserve nature," he stated.
