Seribu Island Pursue Zero Stunting This Year

The Thousand Islands Regency Administration targets zero stunting this year. All Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) and stakeholders are asked to work together pursuing this target.

Now the indication has decreased by 30 percent

Thousand Islands Deputy Regent, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan, said Foster Father (Bapak Asuh) program is one of the ways getting the target done.

"We have determined the Regional Apparatus Organization to be the Foster Father. Today we provide guidance so that the duties and responsibilities of handling stunting can be carried out well," he said, Wednesday (1/3).

According to him, additional food provision (PMT) and routine monitoring need to be intensified to fulfill nutritional requirement for toddlers and children.

"We are optimistic to achieve zero stunting this year. Now the indication has decreased by 30 percent," he added.

Meanwhile, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head, Sidartawan, explained his side keeps monitoring and assisting by involving health workers, PKK cadres, Dasawisma, and RT/RW caretaker.

"We're targeting zero stunting by next month in Untung Jawa Island Urban Village," he closed.
