Collapsed Road on Jalan Gajah Mada to Be Repaired

West Jakarta Sub-dept. of Bina Marga is about to repair the collapsed road on Jalan Gajah Mada in front of Primatama Money Changer Building, RT 01/08, Keagungan Urban Village, Taman Sari.

We have cooperated with them to start repairing tonight

Head Section of Road and Bridge for West Jakarta Sub-dept. of Bina Marga, Khairul Imam, said the road collapsed on Thursday (1/4) about 7 AM. The location is near with MRT Stage 2A Bundaran HI-Kota project.

"PLN has installed barrier for the safety of road user. We have cooperated with them to start repairing tonight," he said, Thursday (1/4).

Meanwhile, PLN's Assistant Manager for West Java Transmission Main Network, Angga, said there is MRT project near the collapsed road.

As requested by Jakarta Bina Marga Agency, his side is digging and relocating 150 KV cable which is impacted by MRT project.

"The collapsed road is four meters long and two meters wide," he stated.

He added that the collapsed road was caused by a spring in the ground which created a hole and flooded until the soil structure became weak.

Wahyudi (41), one of road users, admitted he had to be careful while passing the location.

"It is hoped the road will be repaired immediately," he said.
