Puddles in RW 07 Rawajati Recede

Rawajati Urban Village Head, Supeno said puddles of around 30 centimeters had inundated RT 01 and 03 on Thursday (1/4) afternoon during heavy rain.

"Puddles occurred in residential areas which had already been cleared for the normalization of Ciliwung River," he expressed, Friday (5/1).

Since the Ciliwung River normalization program was implemented, it has had a positive impact on flood-prone areas. It is because normalization makes the water flow smoother, thus the flood recedes quickly.

He explained that entering the rainy season, his party had also urged residents to always be alert when it rains in upstream and local areas.

"If there is a puddle that submerges people's houses, we always alert PPSU to deal with it and help clean people's houses after the puddle," he explained.

Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji expressed that based on data at 8 AM, the puddles on the roads and residential areas in South Jakarta had completely receded.

Previously, puddles were spotted in South Jakarta, including two neighborhoods in Rawajati Sub-district, 30 neighborhoods in Petogogan Sub-district, 2 neighborhoods in Kalibata Sub-district, 2 neighborhoods in Cilandak Timur Sub-district, and 1 neighborhood in Jatipadang Sub-district.

Then also two neighborhoods in Pejaten Barat Urban Village, 11 neighborhoods in Pela Mampang Urban Village, two neighborhoods in Duren Tiga Urban Village, eight neighborhoods in Kuningan Barat Urban Village, and four neighborhoods in Pejaten Timur Urban Village.

"It has been completely receding gradually since last night. Most recently in the Rawajati Village area," he stated.
