BPBD: Puddles in Jakarta Have Receded Completely

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has announced that puddles in several areas caused by moderate to heavy rains that hit Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Thursday (1/4), completely receded.

Puddles in Jakarta receded at 10 AM

"Puddles in Jakarta receded at 10 AM," expressed Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Aji, Friday (1/5).

He explained the puddles receded after the synergy efforts carried out by BPBD, SDA Agency, Gulkarmat Sub-agency, Bina Marga Sub-agency, Environment Sub-agency, Satpol PP, and Urban Village PPSU that have deployed personnel with supporting equipment such as mobile pumps to suck up puddles and ensure the storm drains function well.

"The role of community elements is also involved in this effort, such as RT/RW, FKDM, and other community figures," he explained.

He added the moderate to heavy intensity rain that hit the Jakarta area and its surrounding areas on Thursday (1/4) made the status of the Katulampa Sluice Gate become Alert 3 status at 3.30 PM, Depok Post had risen to Alert 3 Status at 8 PM, and Angke Hulu Post had risen to Alert 3 status at 10 PM. As a result, several areas in Jakarta were inundated.

BPBD urged the public to remain careful and alert to the potential for puddles. "In an emergency, immediately call telephone number 112. This service is free and operates 24 hours non-stop," he stated.
