Thousands of Residents Join Mass Cleanup Action on Panggang Island

Thousands of residents living in Panggang Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-district, held mass cleanup action in the resident's environment in five RWs.

This is a good activity

It was participated by 2,146 people, consisting of civil servants under Panggang Island Urban Village, RW Head, RT Head and locals.

Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Fakih Burhanudin expressed the cleanup action is a routine agenda every Friday. Besides maintaining cleanliness, it also aimed at preventing puddle in the rainy season.

"It is done to follow up on City Secretary Instruction number 100/2023 on Jakarta Mutual Cooperation Competition for a Beautiful Sustainable City Environment," he expressed, Friday (1/5).

He explained the volume of waste collected in cleanup action in each RW reached 17 cubic meters. Most waste collected were used food and drink packaging, leaves, and tree branches.

It could also improve friendship between residents and small problems in the environment could be fixed. Aside that, the quality of cleanliness and environmental sustainability were also maintained

"Besides being able to build social skills and cooperation between residents, it can also strengthen a sense of responsibility towards the environment where we live," he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the residents of RT 01/03 Panggang Island, Nur Rachman Watty (38) assessed that this cleanup action was very good and provided many benefits.

"In our neighborhood, there are 455 participants. This is a good activity, we are very passionate about keeping the environment clean," he stated.
