Dirty Channel on Jalan Raya Ragunan Cleaned from Mud and Waste

Some 15 personnel of PPSU from Pasar Minggu Urban Village, Pasar Minggu Sub-district, South Jakarta, cleaned dirty channel on Jalan Raya Ragunan.

Pasar Minggu Urban Village Urban Village's Government Section Head, Reni Wisyawati expressed the channel cleaning was aimed to prevent inundation and flood in the rainy season.

"We clean mud and waste that trigger siltings and blockages," she expressed, Monday (1/22).

She explained it was carried out manually using a hoe and a shovel.

"Hopefully, it can prevent inundation and flooding on roads or residential areas," he explained.

He urged the public, especially traders around the location, to work together to keep the channels clean.

"Don't litter carelessly. If you see waste in the channel, please clean them," he explained.

One of local residents, Ahmad Jordan (28) also has high hopes that after cleaning the channel there will be no overflow of water which will trigger inundation around the market.

"I'm very grateful for this cleaning. Hopefully, our area is free from inundation when it rains," he stated.
