Dispusip Adds 123,957 Copies to New Book Collection

The Jakarta Library and Archives Agency (Dispusip) is about to increase its book collection to 123,957 copies this year.

New collections according to needs

Those collections will later be distributed to the Cikini Library, HB Jassin Literary Document Center, Pulomas Special Library, Regional Library in each region and Jakarta Community Library (Permata) unit.

Jakarta Dispusip Head, Firmansyah said the hundreds of thousands of copies in the collection consisted of new titles published in the last few years and not yet in the library. The new book collection consisted of social content, skills, fiction, language, and religion.

"New collections according to needs, we don't buy all publications, only those that suit people's needs," he expressed, Tuesday (1/22).

He explained the Jakarta Dispusip Jakarta always adds new books every year to complete the collection. Besides going through the librarian selection process, additions to the new book collection are also based on suggestions or requests from visitors or library users.

"These collections will be ordered next month and distributed in stages," he stated.
