Patra Pump House Construction Reaches 95 Percent

The flood handling infrastructure keeps provided in West Jakarta. Now the West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency is completing the construction of Patra Pump House on Jalan Patra, RT 08/02, Duri Kepa Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-district.

Sub-agency Head, Purwanti, said the construction was started in October 2023 and completed in December 2023. In fact, the additional 50 working days are given since the bottom of stilling pool is sloping.

"We're speeding up the work. Now it reaches 95 percent or finishing stage," Purwanti said, Tuesday (1/23).

Purwanti added that the finishing stages include plastering walls, installing floors and windows. Next is the installation of two pump machines with each pump capacity of 500 liters per second.

"Our target is operating the pump house in the middle of February 2024 to minimize inundation in the area," Purwanti added.

Suratmi (43), one of local residents, admitted Jalan Patra is often inundated during heavy rain.

"It is hoped the newly constructed pump house will minimize inundation here," she admitted.
