Approaching Asia-Africa Summit, City Roads Began to Be Repaired

The Jakarta Bina Marga Department and Public Works Ministry began to repair the damaged roads in the capital in order to smoothen the arrival of 109 delegates and state heads of the 60th Asia-Africa Summit  in Jakarta, which falls on April 19-24,

The reparation has been ongoing since yesterday

Those roads that will be repaired are Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Medan Barat, MH Thamrin, Jenderal Sudirman, Gatot Subroto, MT Haryono and Perdanakusuma. β€œThe reparation has been ongoing since yesterday,” said Head of Road Maintenance Division for Jakarta Bina Marga Department Head, Suko Wibowo, Tuesday (4/7).

City Prepares for the Asia-Africa Summit

Wibowo stated according to the result of a coordination meeting with Public Works Ministry, the roads will be repaired using hotmix method. While other roads around the project of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT)'s subway station on Jalan MH Thamrin and Jenderal Sudirman will be repaired by PT MRT. β€œ Such roads will be repaired using hotmix method,” he told.

In addition, he furthered, the department and sub-department also plans to repair the damaged roads in five other areas. "Another reparation will also be carried out in five areas," he disclosed.
