Heru Launches 3R Waste Management in Ciracas and Rawasari

Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, launched Ciracas (East Jakarta) 3R Waste Management and Rawasari (Central Jakarta) 3R Waste Management, Friday (1/26).

The launching was also attended by Assistant Deputy for Garbage and Waste Management at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Rofi Alhanif and Director of Waste Reduction, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Vinda Damayanti Ansjar.

3R Waste Processing Site in Ciracas will Operate Next Week

Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono said all regional government in Indonesia under Environment and Forestry Ministry's direction are solving waste from the source.

"Today we launched two waste management locations with hope to be regional service board in order to manage waste in two sub-districts," he said. 

He added that Jakarta Provincial Government will construct similar waste management facility in every sub-district in the future.

"This facility is similar with RDF managed in Bantar Gebang Waste Management," he added.

Jakarta Provincial Government has constructed seven waste management facilities in seven locations last yesr. Similar facilities will be constructed this year.

"We will construct similar facilities for every sub-district in several years ahead. This facilities must also be prepared by private companies who develop office or business area based on Environment and Forestry Ministry regulation," he stated.

Meanwhile, Vinda explained UU No 18/2008 stated that waste management starts from decreasing and handling.

The ministry also hopes socialization and education to community keeps being intensified.

"There will be no more opening new dump site in 2030. It means waste management from its source starts today," she explained.

Moreover, Rofi added that his side appreciated Heru and his appratus for handling large waste in Bantar Gebang Dump Site

"And also constructing 3R Waste Management facilities near with the upstream gradually. Waste volume transported to Bantar Gebang Dump Site can be minimized if all sub-districts have this facilities," he said.
