The existence of waste water treatment (IPAL) at RW 09 of Komplek Kebersihan, Ciracas Urban Village, East Jakarta is replacing the septic tank.

RW 09 Ciracas Head, Triyanto, admitted there are 120 families from RT 16, 01, 12 flowing their waste water into the IPAL through the main pipe connected to their houses. It means no more resident's feces on the river.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Environment Sub-agency Head, Eko Gumelar, explained the IPAL was constructed by Jakarta Water Resources Agency in 2020 ago. The capacity is 150 cubic meter a day. This IPAL is processing feces and black water or liquid waste from residential areas.
"There are already 120 connections from local resident houses. It helps the environment cleanliness," he said.
According to him, this IPAL is also to prevent environmental pollution. Especially regarding ground water. Apart from that, it prevents residents from throwing feces into the river.
At this IPAL, liquid waste is processed in such a way that the resulting water is clear and clean. To prove this, the final result of the processing water is collected in a large pond and the fish are kept there. This is to prove that this water is not polluted by waste because the fish can live healthily.
"The processed water can also be used to watering the plants and extinguishing fire," he closed.
