PPSU Helps Overcome Inundation in Makasar

Some 40 PPSU members, deployed to handle inundation in the RW 04, 05, and 06 areas and on Jalan Pusdiklat Depnaker, Makasar Urban Village, East Jakarta, Wednesday (1/31) morning.

Hopefully, the puddles will recede quickly

According to Nasrudin, Head of Makasar Urban Village, the inundation in his area was caused by the overflowing waters from the Kali Cipinang River due to heavy rain that hit Jakarta and flash water from Bogor.

"The inundation occurred at around 6.30 AM when the weather was pouring with heavy rain as high as 30 centimeters. At 8.30 AM, it was gradually receding, but rose again at 9.30 AM," he expressed.

Puddles on Jalan Kemang Utara IX Recede completely

Thus far, nobody displaced, as the inundation only occurred on neighborhood roads. While residents' houses were still safe.

Sofyan (45), one of the motorists passing through Jalan Pusdiklat Depnaker admitted that he passed the road, as the water level on the road was still safe for his motorbike. Moreover, PPSU personnel were ready to help.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), the roads are still passable even though there are puddles. Hopefully, the puddles will recede quickly," he hoped.
