More Wells to Minimize Inundation on Pramuka Island

The Seribu Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency builds four infiltration wells in the Pramuka Island residential area, Jalan Simpang Tiga, RT 03/04, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-district.

We send ten personnel to build them

Seribu Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Hendri said the well infiltration was built to follow up on residents' aspirations considering that puddles often occur when it rains.

"We send ten personnel to build them. The work has been started since January 23 and is targeted for completion next year," he expressed, Monday (1/29).

He explained each well was 40 centimeters long and wide with 50 centimeters deep. The well was connected to one tank with another, using a six-inch paralon pipe.

"First, we dig the well tank first. Then, we connect it to a paralon and later the tank will be closed manually. Hopefully, this new well can make roads and residential areas free from inundation," he explained.

The work received appreciation from RW 04 Chairwoman, Panggang Island Urban Village, Titin.

"The work progress is quite good and neat. Hopefully, the well can prevent inundation. Aside that, it also has a function as a groundwater reserve," she hoped.
