Channel Construction on Jalan Haju Lisan Almost Done

The Jagakarsa Sub-district Water Resources Implementation Unit (SDA), South Jakarta, is building a water channel on Jalan Haji Lisan, RT 03/06, Cipedak Urban Village. Currently, the work progress has reached 95 percent

It has been ongoing since January 2024 and is targeted for completion this week

Jagakarsa Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Sartono said the new water channel construction is a follow-up to the results of the Development Planning Conference 2023 (Musrenbang).

"The channel is built to anticipate inundation during heavy rain," he expressed, Thursday (2/1).

Water Channel on Jalan Sawah Lio Improved

He explained as many as six personnel had been deployed to build a 98.5-meter-long water channel using a 40x40 centimeter U-ditch.

"It has been ongoing since January 2024 and is targeted for completion this week," he explained.

He hoped that it could prevent the potential for inundation or flooding in road areas and residential areas.

"I urge residents to work together to maintain the cleanliness of the channels by not littering," he added.

Viki (32), a local resident, appreciated the work of making the new channel, as it was the residents' request in order to minimize inundation.

"Thank you, this is what we've been waiting for. Hope my residential area can avoid inundation during the rainy season," he stated.
