PPSU Undertakes Arrangements at Indah Kelapa Beach RTH

Some 20 PPSU personnel are arranging the Green Open Space (RTH) at Indah Kelapa Beach, Kelapa Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-district, Seribu Islands. It is done to keep plants and other facilities from damage due to the heavy rain that continues to pour down on Jakarta.

Kelapa Genjah planting is our priority

Kelapa Island Urban Village Head, Muslim expressed the Indah Kelapa Beach RTH arrangement has been ongoing since January 24, 2024, and is a superior area planning program.

"One of the arrangements we have made is making a protector or fence for 60 early maturing coconut trees. The fence is made using bamboo slats," he expressed, Thursday (2/1).

He explained the Genjah Coconut tree is only four meters high. However, at the age of 2.5 to three years, the tree starts to bear fruit and can produce 140 to 180 coconuts in one year.

"Kelapa Genjah planting is our priority, I want this tree to grow a lot to match the name of our region," he explained.

In its arrangement, there was also weed cleaning, tree pruning, and repairs to road boundaries for pedestrians.

"After it is complete, hopefully, residents will take part in looking after and maintaining all the plants and facilities that have been built in this RTH area," he explained.

Kelapa Tunggal Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) Chairman, Safaat strongly supports the area planning program, thus it becomes a better tourist attraction to Kelapa Island.

"Kelapa Island has achieved the achievement of being nominated in the top 75 for the Indonesian Tourism Village Award 2023 (ADWI). Hope more comfortable interaction parks will be created in the Kelapa Island area for residents and tourists," he hoped.
