Illegal Parking, Ten Motorbikes on Jalan Blora Netted

Due to illegal parking, as many as 10 motorcycles were netted by personnel of the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency in the operation held on Jalan Blora, Menteng Urban Village, Friday (2/2).

Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Wildan Anwar said the operation was held, as the online motorcycle taxis or locally Ojol parked illegally and caused traffic jams, especially in rush hours in the morning and afternoon.

"This is shock therapy for those who park their vehicles carelessly. In the future, we will push supervision," he expressed.

He admitted many motorcycle taxi drivers parked or stopped in the area, as many train passengers got off at Dukuh Atas Station.

Seeing that case, his party had recommended the BNI City Station area on Jalan Tanjung Karang, as a shelter for train passengers who wanted to switch modes of transportation using motorcycle taxi.

Unfortunately, many passengers did not want to walk through the Kendal tunnel and preferred to take motorbike taxis on Jalan Blora area, Menteng Urban Village.

"We understand that there are mutual transportation needs. But, please don't go to a place that disrupts traffic," he asserted.

Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency's Operation Control Section Head, Haryo Bagus added that the joint personnel also raided motorists who stopped in areas obstructing traffic.

"To do this, we send 100 joint personnel to the field," he concluded.
