618 Trees in Central Jakarta Pruned in January 2024

Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency pruned 618 prone to fall and shady trees in eight sub-districts.

Sub-agency Head, Mila Ananda, admitted the effort was done to anticipate fallen tree during rainy season.

Fallen Trees in Several Locations Handled Fully

Of those 618 trees, she added, 137 trees were light pruned, 262 were medium pruned, 197 were heavy pruned, and two were cut down.

"The pruning was applied for prone to fall and shady trees," she stated, Monday (2/5).

For pruning the trees, she has team in each sub-district and two teams in city level.

"Each team consists seven personnel," she added.

Meanwhile, Sub-agency's Lane and Cemetery Section Head, Budi Hidayat, explained there were 8,897 trees pruned last year.

The number of trees pruned in January 2023 were 946 trees.

"In 2023, we cut down 55 trees," he explained.
