4,500 Kilograms SPHP Rice Sold at South Jakarta Mayor Office

5kg rice package was sold Rp 53,000

As many as 4,500 kilograms of Stabilization of Food Supply and Prices (SPHP) rice were distributed for workers and residents having Province Minimum Wage (UMP) at South Jakarta Mayor Office. The program was held through Bulog SIAGA.

The 5kg rice package was sold Rp 53,000 enthused by the residents and workers.

One of Pela Mampang Urban Village’s PPSU, Sumarno (55), said the program is very good and helps the community to meet their food needs.

“It is helping me much since rice in market is now sold Rp 70,000 per kilogram. Here, it is sold Rp 53,000 for five kilograms,” he said, Wednesday (2/21).

Similar thing was also stated by Jaya Pirsa (32), a cleaner at the mayor office. He already waits the program to be held since there is prediction rice price will go up again.

“It is hoped the program can be held routinely to ease us getting cheaper rice,” he stated.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprises Sub-agency’s Trade Section Head, Lobo, explained the program is held to stabilize rice price and ease the residents getting cheaper rice.

“Previously, we only sold 300 packages. But it was added to 900 packages,” he explained.

The Bulog SIAGA program, he added, also sold other commodities such as sugar, cooking oil, and flour.
