Cengkareng Timur Residents are Enthusiastic about Buying Cheap Staple Food

Residents living in Cengkareng Timur Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district, West Jakarta, are very happy because they can buy cheap staple food initiated by the Jakarta Provincial Government.

Based on Beritajakarta.id observations, thousands of residents are very enthusiastic about visiting locations selling cheap staple food since the morning. As of 11.30 AM, it was sold out.

One of the residents from RT 03/15, Cengkareng Timur Urban Village, Fatmi (42) admitted he was very happy with the sale of these cheap staple food. With the current economic conditions, sales of 11 packs of instant noodles for Rp 20,000 and five cans of sterilized milk for Rp 30,000 were quite cheap.

Jakarta Provincial Government Continues Cheap Market Program

"I'm happy with this activity because the price is cheaper than on the market. Very helpful for underprivileged people," he expressed, Monday (2/26).

Cengkareng Timur Urban Village Secretary, Pujowati expressed it is the result of collaboration with PT Mitra Pangan Rakyat through a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

"We have distributed 6,000 coupons through RT/RW administrators. The total target is 228 RTs from 17 RWs," he expressed.

He hoped that it could help residents meet their daily needs at affordable prices.

"Residents are very enthusiastic. They feel the benefits of selling cheap staple food," he stated.
