Clean Water and Piped Drinking Services in Jakarta Optimistic to Reach 100 Percent in 2030

Jakarta Provincial Government through Water Resources Agency and Perumda PAM Jaya committed to realize clean water and piped drinking water service 100 percent in 2030.

We're optimistic to reach 100 percent in serving Jakarta residents in 2030

Water Resource's Sub-Clean Water Planning Head, Elisabeth Tarigan, admitted her side is still pursuing target 100 percent to serve Jakarta residents. At this moment, the service is still reaching 65 percent.

"We're optimistic to reach 100 percent in serving Jakarta residents in 2030," she said during a discussion namely PAM Jaya Reborn at City Hall, Tuesday (2/27).

PAM Jaya-Transjakarta Cooperate for Providing Piping Water at Shelters

According to her, Jakarta Provincial Government and PAM Jaya prepare clean water and piped drinking water based on quality, quantity, continuity and affordability.

Perumda PAM Jaya has taken over clean water and piped drinking water in Jakarta fully in February 2023. Jakarta Provincial Government and PAM Jaya keep increasing water tenacity in Jakarta without relying on other regions.

Meanwhile, Perumda PAM Jaya Director, Arief Nasrudin, explained his side works hard to reach the target by increasing the service and reducing non revenue water which is still in 45 percent.

Arief added that PAM Jaya must build new piping line along 7,000 kilometers and adding clean water production to add 35 percent of scope.

"Our target is constructing 77,000 new lines in 2024 for Jakarta residents. That is why we apologize if our works cause traffic jam in several areas," he said.
