Channels on Jalan Nurul Hidayah Being Dredged

Nine personnel from the Ciracas Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Task Force, East Jakarta, dredged the water channel on Jalan Masjid Nurul Hidayah, RT 07/12, Kelapa Dua Wetan.

It is targeted for completion in a week

Ciracas Sub-district SDA Task Force Coordination, Deby said the dredging was conducted because the channel, which is 60 meters long with a dimension of 50 centimeters, was unoptimal as the mud had reached 40 centimeters. The work has been carried out manually since Monday (2/26).

"It is targeted for completion in a week," she expressed, Thursday (2/29).

To optimize it, personnel had to enter the box culverts because of the large number of drain plates covering the water channels in front of residents' houses.

RW 12 Kelapa Dua Wetan Chairman, Muhammad Udin Zaenudin added his party filed a request for draining because they were worried that the channel, which was full of mud and waste, would not accommodate the flow of water during heavy rain, thereby triggering inundation.

"Hopefully, residents help maintain the condition of the channels by not throwing waste into them," he stated.
