Jakarta Water Resource Agency to speed up the polder or retention pool construction in Gandaria City and Tanjung Barat. This flood handling infrastructure is hoped to significantly eliminate inundation caused by heavy rain.

Agency's Flood Handling Sub-group Head, Ericson Indra Pulungan, said the project in Gandaria City is on Jalan Arteri Pondok Indah, while in Tanjung Barat is on Jalan Lenteng Agung Raya, Jalan Nangka Raya and Jalan TB Simatupang.

Channel along 450 meters on Jalan Lenteng Agung Raya and storage along 400 meters in front of Aeon Mall Tanjung Barat are also being constructed.
Moreover, underground channel on Jalan Nangka Raya along 250 meters is being constructed. Next, underground channel along 1,100 meters is being constructed on Jalan TB Simatupang by using jacking slury method to flow water directly to Ciliwung River.
"The project is aimed to handle inundation on Jalan Lenteng Agung. It is also hoped to reduce flood debit towards Poltangan," Ericson said, Monday (3/4).
According to him, the projects are now reached 90 percent and targeted to complete in April 2024.
