Jelang Ramadan dan Lebaran, Pj Gubernur Heru Pastikan Ketersediaan Bahan Pangan Aman

Ahead of Ramadan and Idul Fitri, Heru Ensures Availability of Safe Food Ingredients

Ahead of the National Religious Holidays (HBKN) for Ramadan and Idul Fitri 1445 Hijri, the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to ensure stocks of basic commodities are safe and inflation in Jakarta is under control.

Today, we ensure, first, to keep inflation in check

The statement above was conveyed by Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono after he held a High Level Meeting (HLM) of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) with Bank Indonesia (BI) and several related agencies at Balairung, Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (3/6).

His party keeps synergizing with various parties, starting from the central government, BI, Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Perum Bulog, to Polda Metro Jaya to reduce inflation.

"Today, we ensure, first, to keep inflation in check. Second, there are several points that are factors for inflation in Jakarta, especially regarding electricity and fuel, as well as food," he expressed, in the Jakarta Government's press release.

He added that one of the concrete steps to reduce inflation in Jakarta was to ensure the availability of safe food, by checking its availability at Perum Bulog and Food Stations.

"Bulog says the stock is sufficient for needs in Jakarta," he added.

Jakarta BI Representative Head, Arlyana Abubakar said the inflation in Jakarta in February 2024 was still under control, namely 2.12% (year on year/yoy). This figure is still within the inflation target range of 2.5±1% and lower than the national figure of 2.75% (yoy).

"Now, to face Idul Fitri and Ramadan in TPID HLM, we're coordinating to ensure that food availability is sufficient for people's needs, thus we can control food price inflation," he explained.

Jakarta-Banten Perum Bulog Regional Office Regional Head, Mohamad Alexander also stated that rice commodity stocks were well-sufficient.

"We calculate the estimated minimum stock requirements for the next two or three months. We ensure that the stock currently controlled by Bulog is very safe. Both before religious holidays such as Ramadan, Idul Fitri, and after," he explained.

To respond to the situation of increasing rice prices, Perum Bulog held the Bulog Siaga program (action to secure prices) implemented at 183 points in Jakarta and West Java. The commodities sold are SPHP Rice (Food Supply and Price Stabilization), Premium Rice and other food commodities.
