Central Jakarta Sells 700 Cheap Staple Food Packages on 52nd HKG-PKK Commemoration

The Jakarta PKK Mobilization Team and the Central Jakarta administration, held a cheap market at the Swadharma Canteen, Jalan H Abdul Jalil, RW 09 Karet Tengsin Urban Village, Tanah Abang. It is a series of commemorations of the 52nd United Movement Day (HKG-PKK) 2024.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma said that in total, there were 700 staple food packages and were sold at Rp 100,000 per package. Each package contained 5 kg of rice, 1 kg of granulated sugar, 1 kg of wheat flour, and 2 liters of cooking oil.

Of 700 packages of staple food, 200 were held at the Central Jakarta administration, while the remaining 500 were held at Perumda Pasar Jaya.

"We allocate them to residents and PKK cadres in each RW. It is a form of appreciation to cadres who have moved to empower the community," he expressed, Monday (3/4).

Perumda Pasar Jaya also offered a package of seven packs of instant noodles for Rp 10,000 and various cheap animal food products such as eggs for Rp 22,000 per kg.

Hopefully, it could help residents meet their basic food needs ahead of Ramadan, as well as have an impact on price stability and control inflation.

"It will be a routine agenda. This is the seventh round of the cheap market that we have carried out," he asserted.

The cheap market received appreciation from one of the residents from RT 09/09, Karet Tengsin Urban Village. Hopefully, the stock of future packages would be made even larger.

"We're happy to be able to buy basic necessities at low prices," he stated.
