The forum, which was held to commemorate National Waste Awareness Day (HPSN) 2024, was attended by various stakeholders, ranging from plastic-producing companies, FMCG companies, food and beverage companies, environmental activists, and academics.
Jakarta Environmental Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto, urged all parties to work together in managing Jakarta's waste.

He explained the steps that had been taken by the Jakarta Environmental Agency in waste management started from upstream, midstream, and downstream.
He went on to say that upstream, his party empowered the community by making regulations such as establishing a Waste Management Agency at the RW level, prohibiting the use of single-use plastic bags, and managing waste in independent areas.
Then in the center, his agency built a Waste Management Site 3R (TPS 3R), managed waste in water bodies, and provided bulky waste and electronic waste pickup services.
"Then downstream, we process waste into RDF or Alternative Fuel from Waste and build a Waste Power Plant or PLTSa," he continued.
He prompted stakeholders to join in synergy in DLH's efforts to realize a waste-free Jakarta towards a sustainable global city.
"Hopefully, they can follow in the footsteps of various parties who have contributed to efforts to manage waste in Jakarta," he added.
As for the information, at the Jakarta Waste Management Synergy Forum, there was an agreement to optimize the construction of TPS 3R Joe, Lenteng Agung initiated by Waste For Change Alam Indonesia, WWF Indonesia Foundation, and PT Nestle Indonesia.
