Acting Governor Officiates Groundbreaking Ar-Raudhah Mosque

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono together with several regional apparatus heads under the Jakarta Provincial Government laid the groundbreaking for the construction of the Ar-Raudhah Mosque in Ragunan Urban Village, Pasar Minggu Sub-district, South Jakarta, Friday (3/8).

We already have a budget of Rp 5 billion from the total building

He expressed that officials within the Jakarta Government were committed to building a mosque on land belonging to the Jakarta Maritime, Agricultural and Food Security Agency (KPKP).

"This land belongs to the KPKP Agency, officials are committed to building a mosque at this location. We call it Ar-Raudhah, the area of the mosque is 15x15 square meters which can accommodate 400 worshipers," expressed the Acting Governor accompanied by City Secretary, Joko Agus Setyono; South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin; and Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati.

He also added the location of this mosque is in one of the busy spots in Jakarta. Thereby, the mosque was built as a public facility that the community can use when they are around the location.

"Thus, Muslims can worship, can pray here. This land is quite large, the KPKP Agency together with the Parks and City Forest Agency will gradually arrange it to make it better," he explained, in the Jakarta Government's press release.

Further, the work was targeted for completion by the end of this June.

"This is a gift for the city of Jakarta, especially South Jakarta, the Ar-Raudhah Mosque was built in June and can be used by the public," he explained.

He added the total budget for this work was from City Budget (APBD) amounting to Rp 8 billion.

"This is conducted together with officials and is open for the public if they want to build a worship house. We already have a budget of Rp 5 billion from the total building, a budget of approximately Rp 8 billion is needed. This is for all," he uttered.

PAM Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin as the construction committee for the Ar-Raudhah Mosque, explained that the mosque was likened to a lighthouse. Besides supporting human relationships with God, it was also relationships between humans.

Later on, people could see the Ar-Raudhah Mosque directly from the main road. In the budgeting process, the community could also donate by scanning the QR code on the banner provided.

"Our partner, Bank DKI, has provided QRIS. "So, people who want to become donors, can continue our reward in the future, Insya Allah (God willing), they can also directly scan the QR code here," he uttered.
