Often Overflowing, Channel on Jalan Ikan Cendro Being Repaired

The damaged water channel located on Jalan Ikan Cendro, RT 01/02, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-district is seen being repaired.

Repairs are urgently needed 

Seribu Islands Water Channel Sub-agency (SDA) Head, Hendri said the channel was repaired because of blockage and unoptimal.

"This repair is taken along 36 meters with a depth and width of 50 centimeters," he expressed, Thursday (3/14).

He explained ten personnel were alerted to smoothen the work, including dredging mud and waste sediment, followed by installation of a six-inch pipe," he explained.

It has been carried out since March 5 and has touched 55 percent. It was targeted to be completed on March 20.

"This channel will later be equipped with a manhole cover. Hopefully, the completion of all work can prevent flooding in the surrounding area," he added.

The repair work received appreciation from Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Fakih Burhanuddin.

"Repairs are urgently needed. If left for too long, it will cause new problems, especially in the rainy season," he stated.
