BBPOM-North Jakarta Administration Supervise Takjil in Kebon Bawang Urban Village

Jakarta Drug and Food Monitoring Agency (BBPOM) together with North Jakarta Administration keep monitoring takjil (light iftar snack). At this moment, the monitoring was conducted at Pasar Takjil Ramadan RW 06, Kebon Bawang Urban Village, North Jakarta.

Jakarta BBPOM Head, Sofiani Chandrawati Anwar, said takjil sampling test was carried out in the context of intensifying food control for dangerous substances or ingredients during Ramadan.

She added that there was one products namely sagu mutiara or pacar cina contained Rhodamine B.
"Then we directly educated seller not to sell the product again," she added.
BBPOM also conducted socialization, communication and education for the sellers and buyers.
"We urge residents to be smart consumers before buying medicinal and food products. Hopefully, with this effort, people will get safe and quality takjil," she continued.
Meanwhile, Tanjung Priok Sub-district Head, Ade Himawan, appreciated and supported the food supervision conducted by Jakarta BBPOM.
"Hopefully, public and traders can better understand and care about the importance of safe products for consumption through this activity," he stated.
Moreover, one of traders, Ameng (58), said food monitoring and socialization are very useful and increase insight.
"We must be more concerned and careful so that buyers do not feel the bad effects of food or drink products that contain dangerous substances or ingredients," he said.
