Smoking in Office, Civil Servant's TKD will Be Cut for 1 Month

In order to run smoking ban effectively, Jakarta civil servants who caught smoking in the office of South Jakarta Administration area will strictly get sanction by not transferring the Regional Performance Allowance (TKD) for one month. In accordance with Gubernatorial Regulation No. 50/2012 on the Guidelines of Implementation, Control and Law Enforcement in Smoking Area.

“In compliance with gubernatorial regulation, if there are civil servants smoking, they will be sanctioned by not receiving TKD for one month. All must participate in monitoring for the sake of healthier work environment,” he uttered, Friday (4/17).

According to Supardan, the regulation is aimed to protect the passive smokers. This is because, they get a lot of complaints from people who annoyed with cigarette smoke in the office.

The rampant of cigarette industry, he explained, smoker continues to rise. He also worries it could trigger kids to smoke.
