Resident's House Catches Fire in Cipinang Selatan

A resident's house located on Jalan Cipinang Jaya 1/DD No. 53, RT 11/08, Cipinang Besar Selatan Urban Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta burst into flames on Wednesday (3/27), at around 11.19 PM.

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat)'s Operation Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman said the fire caused by electrical short circuit occurred when the house owner was starting to go to sleep. Not long after, thick smoke and flames came out of the house and then residents immediately tried to wake the house owner.
"From the information we got, the fire suddenly spread from inside the house. Residents tried to extinguish it, but failed," he expressed, Thursday (3/28).

"Everything is cleared up at around 12.02 AM or within 30 minutes," he stated.
He explained personnel had difficulties to reach the location due to densely populated settlements and many vehicles parked on the roadside.
"No casualties or injuries in the incident," he concluded.
One of residents, Galuh admitted that he was immediately reporting the Cipinang Selatan Gulkarmat when he saw the flames.
"Some residents tried to extinguish the flames, but failed. Luckily, personnel came to the scene so the fire did not spread to nearby houses," he concluded.
