Fire in Gedong Successfully Extinguished

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency personnel successfully extinguished fire burned two-story house on Jalan Damai No 51 RT 14/03, Gedong Urban Village, Pasar Rebo, Thursday (3/28).

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency's Operation Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman, said his side received incident report at 10:17 AM and successfully extinguished at 11:15 AM.

Before the fire burned the house, he added, local residents heard an explosion from the house's ceiling.

"It is allegedly the fire caused by electricity short," he said.

His side deployed 14 fire trucks and 70 personnel to the scene.

"Fire was finally extinguished in about one hour," he added.

Meanwhile, Gedong Urban Village Head, Nunung Siti Cholimah, stated the incident made one family or four people lost their house and must take refugee to neighbor.

Nunung explained her side will deploy PPSU personnel to clean the debris right after police completing the investigation.

"We also contacted Social Sub-agency to propose assistance for the survivors," she explained.
