Flood Survivors in East Jakarta Receive Logistical Aid

The East Jakarta Social Sub-agency and PMI, distributed logistical aid to flood survivors in several locations. The aid distributed were in the form of in-kind and packaged rice meals for breaking the fast until sahur (predawn meal).

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Acting Head, Abdul Salam said his party provided aid with 1,200 boxes of packaged rice meals and mineral water to flood survivors located on Jalan Pusdiklat Depnaker, RW 05, Makasar Urban Village, 150 boxes for residents on Jalan Lebak Empang I, RT/RW 002/05, Cijantung Urban Village, Pasar Rebo, and 100 boxes for residents in Cipinang Melayu Urban Village.

"In total, there are 1,450 boxes and mineral water," he stated, Thursday (4/4).

Social Security Protection and Rehabilitation Section Head, Deni Triyanto added his party also provided in-kind aid to flood survivors at the Kramat Jati Urban Village office this morning.

He added the in-kind aid provided was in the form of 200 bags of 5-kg rice, 200 boxes of instant noodles, 200 packs of cooking oil, 400 packs of biscuits, 600 cans of sardines, 200 packs of sweet soy sauce, and 50 packs of mineral water.

"The aid was handed over symbolically to the caretakers of the Kramat Jati Disaster Preparedness Village (KSB) and local community leaders," he added.

The same action also came from the East Jakarta Branch PMI. They distributed the bread and mineral water to other survivors in RW 04, 05, and 07, Makasar Urban Village.

East Jakarta PMI's Public Relations and Communication Section Head, Agus Bastian uttered 1,500 pieces of bread and mineral water were given to residents affected by the inundation at around 2.21 AM.

"Hopefully, this is useful for them," he concluded.
